About us

Dr Emma Tregenna

Dr Emma TregennaI am a qualified Doctor who was inspired to use hypnobirthing for the birth of my own children after my observations as a medical student showed me how easy, calm and joyful birth can be when not accompanied by fear.

Even though my eldest son was born by Caesarean because he was in a breech position, I went on to have 2 beautiful home births when I had my daughter and 2nd son, thanks to hypnobirthing. I was amazed at how powerful and successful the hypnobirthing techniques really are! They allowed me to achieve the births I really wanted- natural homebirth with no pain-relief, and both were lovely, calm, joyful occasions.

I am passionate about teaching other couples about hypnobirthing, so that you too can have a calm, gentle birth and look forward to meeting your baby with confidence and excitement.

As well as practising medicine and teaching hypnobirthing, I run Hempsals Community Farm, with my husband, as featured in Country Living magazine 2013

Samantha Maggott

Sam Maggott

I am a qualified Social Worker with 11 years experience in mental health. I am also a Hypnobirthing instructor and mum of two.

I decided to book onto a Hypnobirthing course when I found out I was pregnant with my second child. The birth of my first child, my daughter, was difficult due to special circumstances. I wanted to have a set of tools and techniques to use for my second pregnancy, and labour, and we embarked on our Hypnobirthing journey. My experience of birth with my second child was a powerful, empowering experience that has stayed with me ever since, and I always planned to tell other women and their birthing partners about the great techniques I had learnt.

I am committed to passing on my knowledge of The Wise Hippo Birthing programme so that you too can experience a calm, comfortable and confident birth.
