What is hypnobirthing?
Hypnobirthing is a complete antenatal education programme that focuses on childbirth as a normal, natural and healthy process. It teaches you how to relax, breathe and trust your body to know what to do instinctively. You will learn everything you need to remain calm and in control throughout labour, to make informed decisions, and to birth your baby more comfortably and easily by breaking the fear-tension-pain cycle. This relaxing method of birthing without stress or fear allows babies to enter the world in an atmosphere of calm and joy.
Why choose BirthCalm?
BirthCalm is run by 2 dedicated hypnobirthing practitioners, Dr Emma Tregenna and Samantha Maggott, who both used the techniques for the births of their own children. As a Doctor and a social worker, they understand how important it is for pregnancy and birth to be a positive experience that you can both look forward to and enjoy and are committed to helping couples achieve that wonderful goal.
Emma is a highly qualified and very experienced hypnobirthing practitioner who has been teaching hypnobirthing classes since 2009, having successfully used the techniques for the births of her own 3 children. Sam qualified as a hypnobirthing practitioner in 2013 and has already started inspiring many couples to have the truly empowering experiences that can be achieved using hypnobirthing preparation and techniques.
Sam and Emma teach the Wise Hippo birthing programme, a new up-to-date course specific to the UK. As well as providing you with all the breathing and relaxation techniques you would expect from a hypnobirthing course, this programme focuses on empowering women to take control of their birthing experience by finding out what choices are available and having the confidence to make informed decisions. This ensures that you will have a positive birthing experience that is right for you, no matter what course your birthing takes.
Group courses for 4-8 couples are run over 2 Saturdays, a fortnight apart, giving plenty of time to get to know each other and build a support network, over lunch at a local pub. They are held in a comfortable environment in the centrally-placed village of Willingham, giving you time to relax, focus on your pregnancy and birth, and enjoy time together before your new baby arrives. Sam and Emma run Group courses together- both available on the first day of the course and one of them completing the 2nd day of the course.
Our next available course is from 10.30am - 4.30pm on:
5th and 19th July 2014
We also offer private courses in your own home at a mutually convenient time.
